APPEARANCE, AROMA + TASTE
APPEARANCE:
Kind Tree’s cure of Apple Crisp displays an overcast darker green hue to its buds which are drenched in small crystalline trichomes. These buds were described by the Budtender as being sticky and I’d say they qualify. However, by the time I reached for an eighth from that batch, it seemed to have turned a bit dry. I’m not complaining; it was a decent cure. But all the buds weren’t “sticking” to the sides of the ziplock as the Budtender had described her experience; The eighth used for this review was danky indeed but it wasn’t necessarily notably stickier than other bud.
Good For Bowls and rolls
Yes, in fact somewhat dry but I’ve seen worse. Overall a decent cure from Kind Tree.
AROMA + TASTE (INHALE + EXHALE
Apple Crisp emits a sour, tangy, and herbaceous aroma reminiscent of your Grandpa’s re-purposed cigar stash box. This is soon overshadowed by the dankness of its “skunk” odor coupled with its more petrochemical essence typical of “diesel” strains.
The extra high levels of Caryophyllene B and A (Humulene) add so much hops and woody artifacts that Apple Crisp ends up smelling more earthen than one would expect.
And, even though neither Apple Crisp’s aroma nor its flavor informed its naming but it smelled more like a greasy garlic lemon and olive oil scampi than any fruit confectionary.
I’d rank this right up there with Garlic Cookies in the dank department. The overall abundance of Caryophyllene (a full 1%!), healthy scoops of Pinene A and B, and dash of Ocimene and matched with some Terpeneol
AROMA / TASTE
INHALE;
- Herbaceous lemon (almost a full percentage of Limonene will tend to color the aroma in this way however it is surprising it’s not more of a blatant citrusy lemon rather than an herbaceous lemon. I am deducing that the Caryophyllenes are responsible for this
- Woodsy / hops due to the higher levels of both Beta Caryophyllene and Humulene (Alpha Caryophyllene)
- Hash – Kush- like flavor and aroma
- Some traces of Skunk in the aroma department which is subtle
EXHALE;
Definite petrochemical taste so often presented by the Diesel strains
A CLOSER LOOK INSIDE
Inside Apple Crisp’s Terpo-Chemical Profile: Here’s the link to the C.O.A. (Certificate of Analysis) for Apple Crisp.
Apple Crisp’s terpene profile leads with high doses of Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Pinene A and these proves to be a winning combination for anyone up for a steep incline in their initial takeoff.
The Beta- Caryophyllene is boosted by Alpha Humulene.

CONCLUSION:
Apple Crisp, the hybrid offspring of Sour Diesel X Sour Apple, (itself a cross of Sour Diesel x Cinderella ’99) is a balanced hybrid capable of both cerebral invigoration and physical relaxation. This “Best of Both Worlds” emits a strong skunky aroma replete with notes of herbaceous lemon, tangy citrus, and pine. This is underscored by its petrochemical odor typical of “diesel” strains. Apple Crisp’s high hits with an immediately uplifting cerebral buzz followed by a grounded by a physcially soothing “stoney” euphoria, increasing appetite and releasing muscle tension along the way with its higher than average levels of the anti-inflammatory terpene Caryophyllene. This wide brushstroke of effects may have the potential to help individuals dealing with a loss of appetite, anxiety, or ADD/ADHD, as well as mild forms of depression.
THE LONG ROAD HOME (My Toke)…
This is not 2021’s Kind Tree..After the takeover of HMS things got murky…New strains introduced and even more re-named and re-named again sometimes, depending on who you ask, based on the fear of triggering someone and being “cancelled”, we saw the end of Bully Kush (sad), Strawberry OG (even sadder), lower THC and terpene percentages overall, and, well, flower just didn’t seem very attractive coming from Kind Tree…for awhile now.
Ineffectual unimpressive numbers, and maybe the occasional spike in performance with notables like Tangie Burn and Afghani (an HMS legacy strain that’s still around),. All in all, as I recall when I was bud tending until about 2 months ago, Kind Tree, was not a preferred destination, but rather an economical weekend getaway when the dollar needed to be stretched; Kind Tree flower became known for its economical price point rather than its genetics or its cure…or potency.
However, something seems to have been happening over at Kind Tree and it has wrought some rather pleasant results, Apple Crisp being one of them.
Apple Crisp is a very effective strain of cannabis; instills a focused higher level cerebral high coupled with some classic ocular pressure, some sensory stimulation while euphorically amplifying any stiuation, and stimulates the appetite.Ultimately it brought me back to the sampling table (..maybe I’ll give Shockwave a go?…I will of course report my findings you can be sure…
So welcome to 2024, where Kind Tree just may have more to offer in the way of sticky goodness.
