EFFECTS (MIND + BODY)

MIND;

  • +Immediate cerebral stimulation
  • +Progressively intense waves of mental euphoria verging on sensations of “joy” for lack of a better word
  • +elevation in mood
  • +Increased ability to focus
  • +Mentally energizing/ motivating
  • + sharpened perception: visual, aural/auditory

BODY;

  • +“body buzz” in waves
  • +some ocular and facial pressure
  • -/+ mild increase in appetite
  • -dry “cotton” mouth**
  • -dry eyes**
  • +/- increased alertness in cerebral activity and energy may prevent sleep **
  • -/+potential for haze-daze**

**in higher doses/IMO

BEST USED:Early Morning/ Morning / Daytime/ Early Evening – this is not a strain for winding down but it is not necessarily a socially stimulating strain since the overall increase in cerebral activity may incline some to be comfortably solitary while focused on something enjoyable.

NOTE: Soul Safari may be a good strain for patients that want to experience some of the benefits of sativa effects but without the potential to cause or increase anxiety or “brain-race”

"I was pleasantly surprised with the level of mood elevation and sharp mental focus that Soul Safari provides"

APPLICATIONS (MEDICAL + RECREATIONAL)
MED;

  • Could help mitigate or alleviate. some symptoms associated with:
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Lethargy
  • ADD/HD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
  • Anxiety/ Panic Disorder/ Panic Attacks

REC;

  • Lends itself to activities requiring attention to detail / increased focus
  • Artistic endeavors/ creative pastimes/ hobbies
  • Can be socially/ conversationally stimulating
  • Gardening/ yard work/ etc
  • Misc- a good Morning strain but in smaller doses sense it may cause a type of focus-distraction: you may get embroiled in a an activity that would normally not hold interest because of it being inconsequential or simply not that engaging.

APPEARANCE, AROMA, & TASTE:

APPEARANCE;
The buds in both eighths I purchased from Ethos/ formerly Mission Catonsville were comprised of smaller, somewhat loosely trimmed buds.

I don’t mind seeing these variegated leaves since they are so photogenic. And, to me, sort of seem like a passage to the past or simply the basic leaf structure of the cannabis plant regardless of indica, sativa, or hybrid.

soul safari stigma detail

There were several shades of green present in the leaf portion of the buds. The stigma/pistils/“hairs” are a brilliant orange. mangled together in sumptuous clusters of deep rusty red. Trichome coverage is blanketed overall but sporadically found in concentration in some areas as can be seen in the above image.
Trichomes are semi-opaque indicating their adequate maturity at the time of harvest.
There is some “cookie-type” strain resemblance here as well when looking at some of the buds’ overall structure.

Good For Bowls and Rolls:
This batch definitely requires the use of a grinder to break down the rock hard buds.

AROMA:

  • Sweet-lemon/ grapefruit /nondescript tropical/ sweet citrus
  • Citrus- undertone of mellow generic citrus-type aroma
  • Artificial- detected some lemon cleaner aroma

TASTE:

  • Sweet- lemon upon exhale
  • Musk- slight hash-type essence on exhale
  • Evergreen- some essence of pine-type taste upon exhale

CONCLUSION:
Soul Safari is a potent sativa dominant hybrid offspring of Jack Herrer X Malawi Gold x (Northern Lights #5 (NL5) x Haze)x Face Off OG BX1 (BX=Back Cross) that can impart an increase in focus, elevated mood, feelings of happiness and general euphoria with a nice Indica body high supplied by its Face Off OG genetics. This is a good sativa strain for those with a propensity to avoid typical sativa strains for their high energy display of effects.

THE LONG ROAD HOME (…my toke)

Soul Safari by Culta is a strain that, up to now, has been a bit difficult to find at a medium to high potency level if seen at all. I personally had seen it since around fall of last year. Harvest time of course.

I was pleasantly surprised with the level of mood elevation and sharp mental focus that Soul Safari provides without ever reaching an intensity level that would cause any panic.
Quite the opposite in fact. Which brings me to the second interesting thing about the complex sativa dominant hybrid: It can supply a very mellow relaxing body high that just sort of makes you feel warm and copacetic inside.

There were more than a few times when medicating with Soul Safari, that I felt elevated and motivated to get some things accomplished.

Yes, Soul Safari can increase your ability to focus. However, it’s so very euphoric and mellow that you may find yourself going down rabbit holes, or devoting time to activities or a movie for instance, that you would normally not invest a lot of time into. I found this to be a sort of distractive focus and left me coming up from those rabbit holes without any rabbits a few times. Overall though, once I made a concerted effort to devote the intensified focus into something worthwhile it became all that more enjoyable.

I have to say, even at this potency, I was very said to see my eighth dwindle down to one last session…and just as I figured out how to make the most of it.
So, if your medicating with Soul Safari and you plan on using its augmented focus, make sure you don’t get sidetracked down a side street or you may end up stuck in a cul de sac of couch-lock.

That being said, once you do you will be pleasantly surprised.
I will definitely purchase Soul Safari again in the future. It would be nice to find it a bit higher or at least as high in potency as this batch. 4/5 (I would say 5/5, but with a name like Soul Safari, I somewhat feel that I was anticipating more of an all-round showcase of effects from one end of the spectrum to the other.

And, in retrospect, and in fairness to Culta, I don’t really think that’s the intention of this strain. I would classify it as hybrid that offers a mellow glimpse into sativa effects while holding you down to earth with some relaxing Indica traits.
